Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve balance, muscle-strength, flexibility and posture. It was created by German-born Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s and incorporates elements of yoga, martial arts and Western forms of exercise.
“In 10 sessions, you feel better, 20 sessions you look better, 30 sessions you have a completely new body.” Joseph Pilates.
We created Restorative Pilates in 2011 as a specialised class for people with existing back/joint/mobility problems that were not able to manage a beginners level. Belinda has attended a Back Care Specialised Workshop with Body Mechanics in Ware and has got 8 years of great experience of working with clients who have all sorts of conditions and complications causing them pain on a day to day basis.
“I feel the key is to move slowly, learn correctly and build confidence both in yourself and me as an instructor. Pilates will greatly improve your daily quaility of life by making your back and core muscles stronger. Your back should be less vunerable and more easily managed during difficult periods or spasm and pain and in general, should happen less often.”
The class is on a Friday morning at 10.30am in Studio 2 at the Latton Bush Centre in Harlow and is 45 minutes long. The classes can be purchased on a block by block basis and run in line with school holidays or can be purchased on a pay as you go basis but this is subject to availability.
A 6 week block costs £31.50, and we run a holiday system. If clients let us know at the point of payment if they cannot attend any classes in the block we will only charge for the classes used however there is no refund or carrying over of classes missed due to sickness etc once the block has started. We don’t mind clients attending a different class one week of needed or are welcome to “make a class up” by coming twice in one week as long as it is within the same block.
Pay as you go is £6.50 per class paid in advance online and is subject to availability.
